And you right, somehow I clicked on the Maburaho instead of Miharu. Hopefully the mods catch it and delete the wrong info.

I saw that, in one of your recent submissions, you made a comment about looking for a faster way to vector, or something that offers a more step-by-step solution.

From my basic understanding, there are several different methods of going about it. Generally speaking, it's done in Illustrator, since it is a vector-based program. However, it technically can also be done in Photoshop too.

Nysha has a fantastic guideline and tutorial that's rather indepth, but really informative. There is also a step-by-step tutorial offered by a former moderator for vectoring in Photoshop here. Unfortunately, I could only find English based guides, since my Spanish is incredibly rusty.

I do hope that this will be of assistance to you in any way possible.

Quote by spotlessthanx, it still looks complicated, i'd like to try but i know i don't have enough patient for it, if only i could find some easier way, like my current method, is very easy, i understood it easily, but i can't remember which was the tutorial that was my first guide.

Lol, unfortunately, most of the time there is no easier way. Before I learned how to use Pen Tool, I thought it was the most difficult thing in the world and also had no patience for all those tutorials that seemed too complicated. But in a nutshell, they're not. Eventually, I had no choice but to sit down and learn and try it out myself if I wanted my works to look good and interesting. You already know the basics anyway so it shouldn't take you long to realize how the rest works.

Quote by spotlessthat sounds good, but, where can i get an easy tutorial in spanish for that purpose?
and i mean a step by step tutorial, i've found several , but they're very hard to understand for me and i got lazy and always give up in my tries.
i'd like to move to next level as you said, clearly i've learned how to make the vector look like the reference pic, but need those details, i was searching for some easy to understand tutorial and never found it.
if you know where can i get it, please tell me, ok, it doesn't matter if it's in english, but all i need is an easy tutorial, let's say " vectoring for fools" lol, something like that, i need a tutorial very well explained, as it if were focused on children.
and maybe i can understand and test it and i'd edit my favorite pics adding those in the future.

but thanx anyway, and don't forget what i said, i was serious , i need some help to learn how to add those details.

Ah, one thing before I say anything else - when you want to reply to someone, use 'Quote in Guestbook' feature - that way, you will directly post in that user's guestbook/userpage. Just quoting and replying to your own userpage and/or artwork does not notify the user who commented and they don't know whether you replied or not.

As for vectoring with Shape Layers, the principle is basically the same as doing it with Paths so I don't think you'd have any trouble with it. The only difference is that with Paths, you trace the line down the middle of it, right-click and choose 'Stroke Path'. With Shape Layers, you have to trace the line on both sides of it (that's why it might take a bit longer) and while doing it, you automatically create vector masks in your layers menu. You can basically do the same with Paths but you still have to trace the line from both sides and then choose 'Fill Path' but then again, another advantage of shape layers is that, unless you choose to rasterize them, you can go back to them any time and change the colors or shapes of them as opposed to Paths which, once they're done, you can't really work with them anymore.

I tried to illustrate how it goes with Paths and Shape Layers so you can check it out here: http://imageshack.us/a/img94/566/pvssn.jpg
There are also a lot of videos on Youtube about it but yeah, it takes some time until you find really good ones, lol.

As for coloring and shading and lighting, there are some basics like making the lineart first and coloring later and keeping the Lineart ALWAYS ON TOP of all other layers. In order to avoid a lot of confusion, I like to make groups so I always know where everything is (like in this example: http://imageshack.us/a/img707/664/c01g.jpg). I also like to use 'Clipping Masks' for shading and highlights. I don't know which version of a program you're using (I'm guessing PS) but in all the newer versions, there is an option to create Clipping Masks atop of Layers. You basically create a base layer with base color (as you have done with all your vectors by now) and then create new layers on top of that for shading and lighting by right-clicking on those new layers and choosing 'Create Clipping Mask'. That way, those clipping mask layers are automatically linked and connected to your base layer but don't directly affect it (unless you decide to merge them all). That way you can experiment with colors, blending modes, opacity/fill etc. to see how it would look on the base layer and easily discard them later and start anew if you're not satisfied. I made a quick example, you can check it out here: http://imageshack.us/a/img547/7636/c02u.jpg

Hope that helps you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to reply ASAP. And of course, you don't have to do it the way I do; experiment and perhaps you'll find your own method that might suit you better.

    nope, thanx for your comment.
yes, ithere was some user posting against me, i know i'm not perfect or the better vector artist on the community, but i try my best, i know they're lacking of shadows, that's something i know, but still, i'm getting better at this in my own style, that person is jealous because his works have more details and that, but i have even more faves than him on DA.

    Just as long as.

No worries, spotless. We all progress at our own pace. Shadowing/lighting is pretty darn difficult to get down, and besides who else would give us so much Katsura Tenjoin and Mizuki Himeji without you?

It's all about making your own style, with something that you're comfortable with, and refining it. If anyone ever gives you guff again, I'll be sure to join in on the fight then. I can't let a fellow MIzuki fan get such terrible feedback.

    thanx.

Quote by spotlessand please, again, avoid trolling with offensive comments if you don't like this, if you don't like, don't watch and abstain doing foolish remarks.

While I'm no mod anymore, my good man if people are giving you crap about your work you should report that immediately.

No one should be subjected to that, and considering you are by far the largest submitter of Indy Art to MT, I'll do whatever I can to help out to make sure it doesn't happen again.

My apologies if this is a bit random.
